My apologies, I’ve been neglecting this blog lately.  I have not forgotten about you, but I was busy preparing for my big move to LA. I’ve just made it through my first week up here and things are starting to settle down, so I’ve finally had time to go through my pictures.

This month’s DowneTowne party, Golf Out-ing, was the perfect way to celebrate my time in Hawaii and say goodbye. Thank you to all the awesome people I got to hang out with that night. It’s always nice to see friendly familiar faces and then meet new people as well.

Since I am no longer in Hawaii, the scope of this blog will change a bit. But no worries, I’ll still be updating regularly!

Happy,  happy birthday, DowneTowne! Damn, can you believe it’s been THREE YEARS already?  It’s crazy to think how much DowneTowne has grown in such a short amount of time. I remember hearing about the parties while I was still in DC and when I came home during the summer of 2007, I bought a DSLR and began shooting at the parties.  The thing about DowneTowne that I love is that it always strives to outdo itself which, I think, pushed me to photograph the parties better.

It’s going to be a great birthday party. DJ Amara from LA will be there on decks. I’m going to do a short interview with her hopefully (cross your fingers) before the party, so you can learn a bit about her beforehand! I’m extremely stoked.

Also, I hear there’s gonna be some awesome giveaways that night!

I spent all last month trying to prepare you folks for DowneTowne’s latest event, Erotica. I told you that Indica was NOT to be missed and she did not disappoint. Never have I seen so many girls happy and so many guys trying to hold in their sheer delight.

The place was packed wall to wall by the time I arrived just before 11pm (just in time for the show, heee!).  Usually when someone performs at a nightclub, it’s expected that some conversations will still carry on during the performance. This was NOT the case for Indica, it was dead quiet with all eyes fixated on her. Amazing stuff.

DowneTowne has just announced its February 6th  theme, EROTICA! You’re supposed to dress in whatever makes you feel sexiest (e.g. lingerie, leather, other…er sexy clothes? lol), which is perfect for Valentine’s Day coming up!

If Indica’s name sounds familiar, it’s because she’s that hotness that made all the girls go crazy at DowneTowne’s Thriller and Fetish parties.  I remember taking pictures at both parties and everyone had their mouths wide open in awe. I’m not even kidding.

Man, I had some major camera issues that night.  I went through the trouble of renting a camera body and lens, only to forget to bring spare batteries for my external flash. Yeah, major mistake. My flash died within the first few shots and I barely got any usable pictures. I did, however, have lots of fun.

This weekend is the second Sunday of the month and you know what that means! Time for Sun-daze at the Manifest!

Happy New Year’s, everyone! I hope everyone is having a food coma inducing holiday and spending some quality time with their loved ones. With 2010 here, I thought I’d take a chance to reflect on the past year and share my goals for the future.

2009 was a rough year for me, especially on my health. In the beginning of the year, I was  diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (sorry if I’ve grossed any of you out!). I spent most of the this year trying to get myself back to 100%, doing all kinds of not fun tests, and taking so many different meds that people tease me that I carry around a pharmacy. This is not a *boo hoo* rant, trust me. I’m actually really grateful that I was finally diagnosed because now I can focus on ways to get better.  My friends and family have been really supportive and patient when I’m sick, re-arranging their eating schedules (which I know is a pain), being flexible with plans we make (or don’t make), and just being awesome about it all.  I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you and how much I appreciate it.

I have some big plans for 2010.  I want to start shooting regularly again, even if it means documenting my boring adventures to the grocery store.  2010 will be about finding the little things I love about Hawaii and sharing it with you all.  Here’s to a prosperous 2010!

What better way to kick off the first weekend of 2010 than with hot women dressed as your favorite divas. I’ll be there taking pictures, looking for the best dressed Lady Gaga, and hanging out. As most of you have noticed, I’ve been laying low for these past few months. It’s not for lack of parties (trust me, there’s tons of stuff going on), it’s just my stomach is the boss of me and he’s been keeping me home!

This is not the end of me, I promise. I’ve been focusing my attention on mellower things, like writing those monthly Downe Girls features for Downetowne and resting up for all the things to come…like this kick ass post-new year’s party for next month’s theme.

It’s going to be a tribute to all these kick ass divas on the the flyer, so I’d better see lots of crazy looking outfits paying tribute to Lady Gaga. More info to come!

The second Sunday of the month is quickly approaching which means it’s time for Downetowne and Casa’s Sun-daze Day Party at the Manifest! I totally love the concept of having a day party. The vibe there is always mellow, the music will make you want to dance, and everyone there is super chill.

Every lesbian’s favorite time of the month is quickly approaching. The DowneTowne events have become the thing to do every first Saturday of the month, whether you’re gay, straight, or just wanting to dance!  December’s theme is “Copy Cats”, so bring a friend, coordinate outfits, and have a good time. You know, they say that everybody in the world has a twin. I was told mine was Hiro Nakamura from Heroes–I don’t see it–but whatever.

Anyway, they have a great line-up planned. Tag teaming DJs, some awesome acoustic music, delicious drink specials, well you know how DowneTowne rolls! More info after the jump.
