Some Project365 activities are planned way in advance and others, like dressing up for Gay Day at Disneyland, are a bit more spontaneous. This was not my first time going to Gay Days at Disneyland, but it was my first time dressing up! For those unfamiliar with the event, the LGBT community and its allies will go to Disneyland during a specific weekend in October and wear red to demonstrate their pride. It is technically an unofficial Disney event (since Disney does not officially endorse any groups), but the park does do things to show their support like making delicious rainbow themed desserts, displaying lots of red merchandise, and don’t forget those cute gay pride Mickey Mouse pins! I also love seeing very, very straight looking guys wearing red and then beginning to wonder why all the other less straight looking guys are also wearing red.
This year Nobin, Kimi, and I all wore matching red t-shirts for the event. Nobin found a really cute design on Amazon, so we all decided to rock matching Mickey Mouse shaka tees. We arrived early, Kimi and I got tricked into signing up for some free timeshare presentation, and we hung out with our fellow gays at the park. All in all, it was a very cool day. We had these big plans of arriving when the park opened and staying as long as possible, but to be honest, we were pooped out by lunch time!
