Project 365

I started my Project365 on Election Day 2008. I voted and later celebrated Obama’s win–I thought it would be the perfect day to start this project. On some days, I’d snap tons of pics and have to sift through everything. On other days, I’d struggle to get that one shot.

As an amateur photographer it really pushes you to think outside the box, think about what you’re shooting, and how you’re going to shoot it. It’s really great practice for me. I think periodically I’ll post my progress here, if anything, so you can see how my year is going.

Looking at all the images tiled in this manner reminds me of a life quilt, like those AIDS quilts that people used to (still?) make.

It's poignant, because you can feel / see the passage of time. I've even forgotten already some of the earlier images, but remember them now that I'm seeing them again. It may not replace an actual journal, but it's a fantastic visual diary.

I've been following this on flickr but I always forget to comment. I'm torn between your wonderful toy captures and Chompers in all his adorable feline goodness. It's fun watching you grow as a photographer.

I just bought a new lens. It's a Tamron wide angle lens 17-35mm f/2.8-4! Makes a big difference in my photos, I think

I think this project is a great way to remember the year–journal writing can be tedious sometimes, but a picture is quick, and definitely captures so much. I can't wait to see where we'll be in a year, or even just a few months!

We're already almost 3 full months in -maybe even month four… and I've moved! And maybe by the time this ends, I'll find out whether or not I go back for a PhD.

A lot of time has already passed. Crazy.

I've been alright. Just working like crazy to save up enough to go back to school this summer or fall. Then maybe I can get out of this cow infested two stoplight town and back to civilization.

I like the pics I've seen with the new lens. They're purdy.

How have you been? It's been awhile since we talked. Which is probably my fault since all I do is go to work, the gym, and go to sleep. I miss my online life.
