Don’t know if anyone is awake yet, but I thought I’d put up some information about today’s Gay Pride Parade at Magic Island.  The parade itself starts at 9am and then afterwards, the Aloha Bears will be manning the grills for a big picnic.  Remember today is ONLY the parade, the actual Pride festival itself isn’t until mid-July.

But don’t get too sunburned because tonight is the Color Band Collective down in Chinatown.  Get your wristband (for only $20) and hop between three venues: Bar35, 39Hotel, and Indigo’s.  You can purchase your tickets at groovetickets.com (search: color band collective) or pay cover at the door. Proceeds go to PFLAG, so there are no excuses to get your asses to Chinatown tonight!

7:00 AM – Pride Parade Volunteer Check-in begins at Magic Island

7:30 AM – Pride Parade check-in begins at Magic Island

8:55 AM – Pride Parade Check-in ends

9:00 AM – Pride Parade Starts (See line-up below)

POST PRIDE PARADE “No–Host” PICNIC

@ 10:30 AM – Post Pride Parade “No-host” Picnic Starts in Kapiolani Park where the Pride Parade ends by the Bandstand [map]
Bring your picnic items, coolers, tents and chairs and hang out in Kapiolani Park

The Aloha Bears will have their grill(s) available for everyone to use

Parking Permits for Kapiolani Park are limited to 2 for every group in the Gay Pride Parade and volunteers for the Gay Pride Parade only

3:00 PM – Picnic Ends
