The Haunted Lagoon at Polynesian Cultural Center!

Last night, my friends and I made the long drive to Laie to go to Polynesian Cultural Center’s Haunted Lagoon. Tickets were $8 for adults and could be purchased at the ticket counter in the main hut. Make sure you purchase tickets before 9pm, though, because they’re being very strict about that. So as long as you purchase tickets before then, even if the line is long for the canoe ride, they won’t turn you away.

Tickets can be purchased here:

You can also purchase a photo of you getting your ass scared off here.

The line was pretty long (as you can see), but you can buy food (teriburgers and saimin) at a nearby concession stand to pass the time.

In this last pic, you can sort of see the canoe in the background. It was the only picture I was able to take because it was so damn dark.

Unlike Shockhouse, you have to actually sit through the whole thing and there’s nowhere to go if you change your mind and want to leave. I remember when we first sat in the canoe and we were able to leave dock, the guy warned us that “things” might try to jump into the canoe. Into the canoe?!

Without giving too much away, I’ll just say I’m glad the guy warned us.

In terms of scariness, not too bad at all. It was more entertaining than scary (although, I wasn’t sitting in the way front or very back of the canoe where Lady Laie follows you).  If you can handle the long drive to PCC, I definitely recommend the Haunted Lagoon. It’s a great ride to go with a big group of friends because you can all sit together and you won’t get separated (like Shockhouse).

I can’t believe Halloween is on Friday already. Wait till you see what I have planned for my costume–you’ll laugh. I’m debating over whether I’ll have enough time to go to the Haunted Plantation on Friday (its last day). I think it would be amazing, but the line will also probably be very, very long. I’ve gotten two separate randomy blog comments about the scariness factor of the Haunted Plantation. Here’s one.

What do you guys think? Should I go? Who’s coming with me!
